Juläine™ – ultimate collagen stimulator

JULÄINE™ of Sweden is a second-generation poly-L-lactic (PLLA) injectable that stimulates collagen production to restore volume in sunken areas of your face and body.   

It uses high-quality, uniform-sized PLLA microspheres, making it safer and more effective than other similar products on the market. The smooth, even shape of these microspheres ensures they spread easily and gradually release the active ingredient for consistent skin rejuvenation. 

Thanks to their biocompatible design, JULÄINE™ microspheres react well with the skin tissue, reducing the risk of inflammation or unwanted lumps. Their specific size and shape also allow for a slow, controlled breakdown, which helps boost healthy collagen production over time, leading to long-lasting, natural-looking results. 

Unlike treatments that focus on immediate replacement, JULÄINE™supports long-term structural improvements, enhancing facial contours and skin texture naturally. Many dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid (HA) – a hydrating ingredient which typically lasts for six to 12 months.  

With JULÄINE™, the poly-L-lactic (PLLA) injectable acts as a biostimulator to produce collagen for periods lasting up to 24 months. In as little as two to three months from your first treatment, you will notice natural-looking results that add hydration, elasticity and volume to your skin, with results continuing to progress for another 6 months. 

Polynucleotides and JULÄINE™ are both injectable treatments that help boost collagen production and rejuvenate the skin. They were originally developed for wound healing and are both biodegradable, meaning they naturally break down over time. 

The key difference between them is their ingredients. Polynucleotides are derived from salmon DNA, while JULÄINE™ is a synthetic product created entirely by Nordberg Medical. Polynucleotides work well in delicate areas like under the eyes (tear troughs), while JULÄINE™ is best for adding volume and tightening the mid-to-lower face. 

Polynucleotides not only stimulates collagen but also fights free radicals, helping to slow down ageing and improve skin health. JULÄINE™ focuses on providing a stronger collagen boost with longer-lasting results. It’s not about one being better than the other—they’re both great treatments with their own strengths. 

JULÄINE™ is especially good at restoring volume and tightening loose skin in the mid-to-lower face. This makes it ideal for people concerned about looking hollow or gaunt, which has been a hot topic recently due to the popularity of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic. It’s particularly effective at adding natural-looking volume around the nasolabial lines and other areas where volume loss is noticeable. 

JULÄINE™ is injected under the skin using a cannula. In most cases it’s a very comfortable treatment, which takes about half an hour to do.

Some patients experience minimal side effects such as a small amount of swelling, and very rarely, minor bruising. Any swelling or bruising will usually resolve within one or two days.

Depending on your age and condition of treated area, a course of two to four treatments is usually recommended. Your doctor will advise on the right amount of treatments during your consultation.

Some patients report an instant improvement in skin texture and appearance, however the collagen stimulating process takes a couple of weeks to properly start, then continues for three to four months after treatment.  

Final results will be visible in the months following the final treatment. The PLLA and LaSynPro technology remains within the tissues for up to two years, so results have a great longevity, especially in comparison to other collagen stimulating treatments.  

Yes! All of our patient plans are personal, and we recommend treatments based on individual requirements. We will often use Dermalux LED in conjunction with JULÄINE™,to reduce likelihood of swelling and bruising and to enhance the collagen stimulating effects. We also may recommend a combination of other dermal fillers and Botox, or skin resurfacing procedure such as Tixel.

JULÄINE™ can be used anywhere in the body to stimulate change to the skin and boost collagen and elastin. We typically use it in the face, including delicate areas around the eyes and the upper lip to naturally lift and tighten without volumising. It can also be used in the neck and decollete, and other areas in the body such as the upper arms, legs and abdomen.
